Returns & exchanges
Last updated: 3 November 2026
Currently open for browsing. Online orders, payments, customer registrations and new seller applications are not open yet. The purchase and delivery provisions below apply when ordering becomes available; browsing does not place an order or reserve an item.
The rights below apply to your purchase, including selected pre-owned items. Consignment status or a discount does not remove these protections.
1. Online cooling-off: seven days
For an eligible electronic transaction under ECTA section 44, you may cancel without giving a reason or paying a penalty within seven days after receiving the goods. Let us know clearly that you wish to cancel. The only charge we may levy is the direct cost of returning the goods. If you paid, the payment must be refunded within 30 days of cancellation.
The statutory exceptions in ECTA section 42 may apply, for example to clearly personalised goods or goods which by their nature cannot be returned. We will identify any applicable exception before purchase. Consignment or sale status alone does not exclude an item from these rights.
2. Defective, unsafe or incorrectly described goods
Where CPA sections 55 and 56 apply, you may return goods that fail the applicable quality standards within six months after delivery, without penalty and at our risk and expense, and choose a repair, replacement or refund. If a repair fails or a further defect appears within three months after repair, the Act provides for replacement or refund.
Assessment takes account of the item’s nature, intended use and any particular condition expressly disclosed and knowingly accepted before purchase. A general condition label does not excuse an undisclosed defect. Damage caused by misuse or unauthorised alteration is assessed under the applicable law, not treated as an automatic reason to reject every claim.
If we deliver the wrong item or an item materially differs from its agreed description, contact us for the applicable return, replacement or refund remedy. Please report damage or errors promptly and keep packaging where possible. Missing packaging or failure to report within three days does not automatically remove a statutory remedy.
3. Additional change-of-mind exchanges
In addition to statutory rights, you may request a discretionary size or product exchange within three days after receiving your purchase. For this additional benefit, the item must be unworn, unwashed and undamaged, with original tags, original undamaged packaging and proof of purchase.
This discretionary benefit excludes underwear and socks, cleaning products, pre-owned goods and sale or clearance items. These exclusions apply only to the additional exchange benefit, not to a cooling-off right or a valid defective-goods claim.
Exchanges depend on available stock. Any price difference, return and replacement delivery costs will be confirmed before you agree. Where a requested exchange is unavailable, we may offer store credit by agreement. You are not required to accept store credit instead of a refund owed under law.
4. How to arrange a return
- Email closetcollectioncpt@gmail.com with your order reference or other reasonable proof of purchase, the item and the remedy you are requesting.
- For damage, defects or a wrong item, describe the issue and include photographs if available. Photographs help assessment but are not an absolute condition of your legal rights.
- We will provide return arrangements and explain who pays the delivery cost. Please package the item securely and keep the tracking or collection record.
- We will inspect the returned item where appropriate, explain the outcome and process the remedy due. An inspection or internal return-reference process does not extend a statutory deadline.
For a valid CPA quality claim, return risk and cost are ours. For an ECTA cooling-off return, the direct return cost is yours. For an additional voluntary exchange, costs must be agreed in advance. We do not charge a restocking penalty for a statutory cooling-off cancellation.
5. Refunds and unavailable stock
Refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method, or another method agreed with you where necessary. We will not require store credit for a legally required refund. Provider processing times will be explained and do not remove our obligation to meet applicable deadlines.
If an accepted order cannot be supplied because stock is unavailable, we will notify you promptly and refund the amount due within 30 days of that notification, without restricting any additional statutory remedy. Viewing an item while checkout is closed does not create an order.
